Mark your calendars, on Thursday 6 August, AIMA members and partners will come together at the NZ International Convention Centre for Converge 2026, our biggest gathering yet of New Zealand's independent media agency community.
This year's theme, 'Indie Edge. Human Advantage', gets to the heart of what makes the indie sector different, and why that matters more than ever as AI reshapes the industry and clients demand sharper strategic thinking.
The afternoon kicks off with our conference programme, featuring keynote speaker Dr Mahsa McCauley, Chair of the AI Forum NZ, who'll challenge agency leaders to think beyond efficiency and explore where human judgement remains irreplaceable in an AI-driven world. She'll be followed by a Futures Panel led by Jake Calder, and then a Channel Spotlight on Audio.
Then comes Decoding Indies. Partners get dedicated, structured table time with agency owners and founders to hear firsthand about their business priorities, client portfolios and how they prefer to work with vendors. It's real access to the people who make the decisions, not a panel watched from the back row.
The day wraps with our Trade Show; drinks, canapés, a DJ, and exhibition space designed as the natural gathering point for the industry.
Converge is built to create more meaningful conversations, stronger commercial outcomes, and genuine relationship-building between agencies and the partners who back them.
