Laundry Drying Index
Harvey Norman Partnership
MetService research uncovered a simple but powerful insight: New Zealanders were repeatedly checking the weather throughout the day to make laundry decisions. In response, Harvey Norman partnered with MetService to create the Laundry Drying Index – a proprietary tool combining multiple weather data point to provide a simple daily guide to outdoor drying conditions.
By transforming complex weather data into practical everyday value, the partnership delivered one of MetService’s most highly visited features while reinforcing Harvey Norman’s relevance in the Laundry category.
Fire & Emergency New Zealand
In 2021 Fire & Emergency NZ and MetService entered into a partnership to show Fire Danger and Fire Season content to New Zealanders, alongside their daily weather feed 24/7. FENZ was seeking to educate the New Zealand public around and change entrenched attitudes such as “she’ll be alright” which led to risky behaviour in high fire danger seasons.
Which had resulted in the sad statistic that 98% of all wildfires in NZ are caused by humans. The opposite of trends seen internationally. This campaign saw a reach of over half of all adult New Zealanders over the past two years onsite.
Animates Pet Forecast
Together with Animates, we created the Animates Pet Forecast – a dedicated weather index within the MetService platforms that translated weather conditions into practical advice for pet owners. By combining trusted weather data with tailored pet care guidance, the forecast helped viewers know the best time to walk the dog, protect paws from hot pavements, keep pets cool, or prepare for changing conditions.
The partnership transformed a daily weather check into a valuable pet care moment, reinforcing Animates role as an expert companion for kiwi pet owners.
